Competition policy in crisis

A series of decisions, in which the Court of First Instance has overturned European Commission decisions, has left European competition policy in crisis - the Court's ruling on the issues raised by Microsoft is eagerly awaited.

In a lecture in Brussels to the Law Society's European Group on 22 June, John argued that the present state of competition policy represents bad law and bad economics, and that there should be a 'back to basics' approach, based on the application of clear and simple principles..
